THE WRITERS WHO MOST INSPIRE ALICE
There have been many writers who’ve inspired me in ways big and small, but I always remember the first time I read Jonathan Stroud as a teenager. I borrowed his Bartimaeus books from a friend and they opened my eyes to how funny and engaging a playful narrative voice could be.

Some things just feel like they were meant to be. Kate was number one on my agent wish list, and highly recommended to me by a friend. I sent her my manuscript and received in return probably the best email I’ve had in my entire life – Kate had immediately connected with my humour and what I was trying to do with my writing.
