After many years working as a change manager - yes, a change manager! - Marie Basting decided she fancied a change herself. So, she took redundancy, signed up for an MA in creative writing and set out to write a book. Marie now spends her time creating funny, feisty, fantastical stories for middle graders.
On the rare occasions Marie does come back to reality, you’ll find her encouraging other writers. As an Assistant Regional Advisor for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Marie supports the development of writers and illustrators at all stages of their careers. She also offers freelance creative writing tuition to both adults and children and is an Associate Lecturer at Manchester Met University.
Marie lives in Manchester with her husband, son and a giant, hairy woo-dog called Polly. She is never knowingly out-shoed.
