"Kate’s energy, enthusiasm and professional insight have been invaluable."

Martin Griffin’s fiction explores the gulf between appearance and reality and our lack of trust in authority figures. His high-concept, high-octane crime thrillers are published by Sphere in the UK, Pegasus in the USA with German, Italian and Czech rights also sold.

Before becoming a thriller writer Martin was a deputy head teacher, and a doomed singer who was once asked to support the British post-punk band The Fall on tour, a gig he had to decline having only composed two good songs.

Martin lives in Manchester with his wife and daughter.

THE WRITERS WHO MOST INSPIRE MARTIN

I admire Tana French’s superb Dublin Murder Squad sequence and I’m also indebted to Louise Welsh, a writer of darkly fascinating thrillers set in grubby, glamorous underworlds.
